Like most of my blog buddies, I get pretty jazzed about a good estate, garage or yard sale. But I think my favorite kind of sale, the ones where I find the best treasures at the most insane prices (usually) are the unadvertised, impromptu, mid-week sales. Last Tuesday as I was headed home from the preschool with a car full of kiddos, I spotted a "yard sale" sign and my car came to a swift stop! A handful of people where pulling things out of a storage unit. Nothing was priced, and half of the items were "not for sale" but this table caught my eye and it was a great price! Somehow I managed to shove it into my SUV, along with all of the children and their bulky car seats! It took some time, rearranging and extra effort but I got it in there! We junkers don't leave treasures like this behind simply because there isn't room, do we? If there's a will, there's a way!
In it's past life, this cutie pie has been white, green, yellow, black and red! I suppose I could leave it as is, but it's just a little too rough for the display I have in mind for it. Don't worry, it will retain it's shabby farm house charm...I'm just going to clean and class it up a bit!
I also picked up a box full of vintage sheet music and other ephemera! I haven't had a chance to dig into it yet...who knows what I'll find in there! Fun fun!
Bring on the sales! I am so ready to shop! My little treasure pile in the garage is growing each week (much to my husband's dismay!) I guess it's time to get to work on some of these projects! I'll be pulling out my palm sander and favorite cream paint this weekend and hope to have some completed pieces to share next week!
Have a wonderful weekend! Thank you so much for your sweet visit!
Best Wishes and Blessings,
Amanda
