A Keepsake to Remember This Day by...

Today is a very special day for our family.  Today is the day that we officially adopt our little girl whom we have fostered for the past year and a half!  We couldn't be happier!  I've made this little keepsake to remember the day by and I wanted to share it with you!

What started out as an inexpensive thrift store print in a dated frame, is now a special memento that will be hung in a very special little girl's sweet pink room!  Of course I used Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan to makeover the frame, and I painted right over the mountain scene to create the backdrop for the gold shoes.  I just love these little shoes!  They were on some sweet little feet last Christmas, so they are sentimental as well!

Thank you for stopping by and sharing in our joy today!

Best Wishes and Blessings!
Amanda

  7. Yay!! Woo Hoo!! Can you hear me yelling from Southeastern Washington????
I think I have missed any updates about this. I remembered you quietly intimated about something like this happening, but you were very careful. I have kept wondering how things worked out, and hoped they were working out. I don't see all your posts so I have probably missed any other info you gave.
I am so happy for you and your family! You have more PINK than just YOU in the house now! So much fun for you, and for her to have a family who is in love with her!

Your sign is just SO precious...just amazing, like all your other creations. I am so happy for you all! have fun with those little feet while they are small! I am missing my little children, they are all grown now. My Grandgirls live in Germany so I only see them about once a year.
They were here this summer and we had a grand time...but my heart aches when I think about how much I am missing as they grow. We skype so they know us, but it isn't the same not being near.
Hugs and Congratulations! I am so happily crying for you!

  9. That's so exciting that you were able to adopt your little girl!! I've thought about asking a few times but didn't want to in case something didn't work out (Sadly, that has happened to a close friend of mine). Anyway, I love your special memento. It's just perfect! ~ Jamie

  10. Oh Amanda! I am so very happy for you and your family! I have often wondered over the months what the status of the adoption was, but didn't want to pry by asking. I figured that when there was news, you would share it and I am thrilled to read this news today! God has brought a wonderful family to this child and a gorgeous child to your lovely family. There is no truer blessing than that!
The memento you made is so sweet! I love little baby shoes and these are darling with the date of her adoption included. I know that she will cherish this forever!
Congratulations again and many blessings as you begin this newest chapter of your family's journey, now one member stronger! Hugs, Leena
